There are a number of factors that lead to injuries tied to Slips, Trips and Falls or STF. One factor is the harness that a person chooses to wear and how that harness fits the body type, if properly adjusted. If you buy a pair of work boots, you don't choose a size of boot that doesn't fit your feet. The same consideration should be taken when selecting a harness, because what you wear matters. An impactful research article by NIOSH in 2014 covers a number of topics discussing ways to reduce the number of fall related injuries. No surprise, choosing the correct harness for your body type, along with proper fit, is highlighted.
The number of different body shapes also relates to whether the worker is a male or female. NIOSH did a study specific to the gender of the person wearing a harness. Again, no surprise in that they recommend tighter scrutiny when selecting a harness for your workers based on the worker being a male or female. A males pelvic region is different than a female, thus the need for different sizing of harnesses. Gender, weight, physical health, and body structure all contribute in determining what should be considered when selecting a harness. Will our harnesses fit every user perfectly, we can't answer that, but Advanced Safety Solutions is willing to send you a few harnesses at no charge, excluding freight, to make sure the harness is the right fit for your employees.
*Advanced Safety Solutions will provide each size of the harness you select for sizing purposes. Only one style per person or company unless otherwise arranged. We simply request that the company or person requesting the free harnesses for sizing is responsible for the freight to and from the destination. A return label will be provided with your package. Harnesses for sizing must be returned within 30 days of receipt, otherwise the company or person that ordered the free harnesses will be charged MSRP for all items received. If you decide to keep the harnesses, we will extend a 15% discount on your invoice.
